In the years since it was established in 1990, the Lake Placid Lacrosse Tournament (formally known as the Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic) has grown into one of the best known and most highly regraded lacrosse tournaments around.

The seven day event now attracts about 150 teams, from high school to post collegiate, and features some of the top players in the country.

More Info

Games are played at four locations throughout the town - the North Elba Athletic Fields, the North Elba Horse Show Grounds, the Northwood School and the Bark Eater Inn.

For scholastic divisions (U15-U18 Boys and U18 Girls), registration is on a first come, first served basis, so interested teams are encouraged to get their application in as early as possible.

For adult teams, the Lake Placid tournmaent can be a little difficult to get into because of the organic way the tournament has grown. Each team that competes one year gets an automatic invitation to enter the next, and there are a lot that come back year after year. The best way for new teams to get in on the fun is to email the organizers and get on the waiting list. Then, if there is a need to fill out a particular division and your team fits the bill, you may get an invitation.

Besides the great competition, Lake Placid is a wonderful place to visit at that time of year, offering mountains, lakes, beautiful scenery, fine restaurants and shopping.
